While several sections of the society are trying to spew a good word about brotherhood, it is disturbing to see some notorious people not being able to overcome their retarded beliefs. A sheer example of this comes from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
On Tuesday, a man named Amit Shukla tweeted about cancelling his order with Zomato because the delivery boy who was tasked to deliver the same was a non-Hindu.
In a series of tweets, Amit Shukla shared his conversation with Zomato sparing us a view of his disapproval on receiving delivery from a Muslim rider. He cited Shravan as the reason behind the same.
“Just cancelled an order on @ZomatoIN they allocated a non-Hindu rider for my food they said they can’t change rider and can’t refund on cancellation I said you can’t force me to take a delivery I don’t want don’t refund just cancel” – He tweeted.
Zomato’s Response
Zomato in a reply to the same tweeted “Food doesn’t have a religion. It is a religion.”

Later, the Indian food delivery giant also shared an additional statement titled Food, Religion and Halal. Interestingly, Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal also reshared Zomato’s tweet with a beautiful message. In the letter, he gives us a glimpse of his company’s values.
We are proud of the idea of India – and the diversity of our esteemed customers and partners. We aren’t sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values. ?? https://t.co/cgSIW2ow9B

Netizen’s Response
The food delivery platform’s response ever since has been winning the heart. Netizens praised Zomato for “rejecting bigotry and hate”. Harsh Goenka, chairman of RPG Group, in response to the whole build-up, tweeted: “If you ask me who I am, I will say I am an Indian, a son, a father, a businessman, a Hindu…my being Hindu is only one aspect of my identity.”
If you ask me who I am, I will say I am an Indian, a son,a father, a businessman, a Hindu…my being Hindu is only one aspect of my identity. Yet world over, identity is being defined by narrow confines of religion at cost of all other identities.
It’s a dangerous trend!
