How dedicated are you towards your job?
I mean, I am not talking about making it to work, when you are in a hangover or something. I am talking about sheer dedication which reflects in your actions when it comes to working your shift.
Well, this young mother’s dedication towards her job will make you respect her and might even spark the fire which she has within her. A lady police officer in Jhansi’s Kotwali police station brought her newborn daughter along and was working on the reception desk.
That’s when someone took this picture and posted it on the social media platform.
This picture soon went viral for all the right reasons and even brought a very sweet change in the life of this dedicated police officer. The lady constable in the picture is Archana Singh, aged 30 who works in the Jhansi police station.
What was the effect of this viral photo?
When UP DGP Om Prakash Singh saw this picture, he called up the Inspector General (IG) Jhansi, who confirmed that indeed Archana was the cop, who chose to join back on duty instead of taking a childcare leave. Impressed by this, DGP asked him to reward Archana with Rs. 1000.
Further, the DGP spoke to her and asked what could be done to help her out in this situation. Archana explained that she is not having any family support because her family is in Agra and her in-laws are in Kanpur (Official home district after marriage). Sadly, according to the rules, the police department cannot post constables in their home district. So, she requested if there was a possibility to post her in Agra where her family lived.

But little did she know that the DGP had already planned rewards for her in store. He confirmed her transfer to Agra, where her parents stay with immediate effect.
He even referred to her as a “quintessential 21st-century woman”.

In addition to this, he said that her experience has inspired state police to explore the possibility of having a creche at every police line. All in all, a simple picture that went viral brought the most unexpected changes in this constable’s life and hopefully will bring smiles of new mothers who work in the police department in the future.
