Another case of changing name has come into the light during the assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. Now a proposal is made to change the name of Miyaganj Gram Panchayat in the Unnao district. The proposal says that the name of Mianganj to Mayaganj. However, the Unnao District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar has completed the process and sends the proposal to the government. He has also sent a report to Additional Chief Secretary Panchayati Raj in this regard.
Previously, during the 2017 assembly election campaign, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had promised in a public meeting that Mainganj would renamed as Mayaganj.
Decided To Change Names Before The Election
The actions are taken to fulfil the promise that CM Yogi Adityanath made in the last elections before winning the assembly election. In the letter dated 24th August sent by Ravindra Kumar (District Magistrate of Unnao) to the Additional Chief Secretary, it has said that the proposal to alter change of development block Miaganj passed at the panchayat level. Also, the letter demands further action.

Names Changed After 2017 Assembly Elections
Importantly, after the arrival of YOGI RAJ in Uttar Pradesh, the trend of changing names of places and cities is continue. Mughalsarai changed to Deendayal Upadhyay and Allahabad’s changed to Prayagraj. Moreover, several proposals have been proposed, like rename Aligarh as Harigarh, and Mainpuri as Mayanrishi. Apart from these, Firozabad is proposed to be renamed as Chandranagar, and Jhansi Railway Station to be as Rani Laxmibai.
In such a way, several major places and cities of Uttar Pradesh have been either changed or proposed to get changed.
