Speaking at the United Nations on Monday the U.S. President Donald Trump complained of not getting the Noble Peace Prize. Trump said, that it is unfair that he didn’t get the prize yet. Complaining about the same he said, “I would get a Nobel prize for a lot of things, if they give it out fairly, which they don’t,”.
Trump also expressed surprise on his predecessor Barack Obama getting the honor in 2009. He said, “Mr. Obama was given the peace prize for “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people,” even though he had only just become president”.
This is not the first time that Trump has raised the wish of him being awarded the “Nobel Peace Prize”. It is one of the oldest grievance of the current U.S. President.
Trump was meeting Pakistan PM Imran Khan on the sidelines of UNGA when he talked about his grievance. He is scheduled to meet PM Modi again on Wednesday after Sunday’s “Howdy Modi” rally.
