After India’s remark on PoK, Pakistan has urged the international community to take serious note of India’s wording. Pakistan said that such “aggressive posturing” (statement on PoK) by India can only add t0 the escalation of tensions between the two nations and has the potential to jeopardize peace and security in the region.
The reaction from Pakistan comes hours after India said that PoK is a part of it and is expected to have “physical jurisdiction” over the region one day. India also clarified that Kashmir is an internal issue regarding which her position has prevailed and would prevail in the future.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaisshankar who was attending his first press conference since swearing-in said that India faces a unique challenge from one of its neighbour. He further added that the challenge would remain until the neighbor became a “normal neighbor” and acted against cross-border terrorism.
On being asked a question about talks with Pakistan the minister said that “Our position has, is and will always be very clear on PoK, that it is part of India and we expect one day we will have physical jurisdiction over it.”
India’s statement on PoK was termed as “irresponsible and belligerent” by Pakistan’s Foreign Office. Pakistan condemned Jaishankar’s statement and said that it was an inflammatory and irresponsible response from the Indian minister.
Pakistan said that India’s response is a manifestation of her utter frustration over continued international censure of its egregious human rights violations in Kashmir. Pakistan accused India of diverting International attention from the crime against innocent people of Kashmir.
The neighbors said that they stand for peace and are ready to respond to any act of aggression effectively. Pakistan advised India to stop jingoistic rhetoric and revoke its illegal actions and human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir. It also advised India to refrain from violating international law, and fully comply with UN Security Council resolutions for a final settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
The tensions between the two nations are on boil ever since India revoked “Special Status” of J&K last month. Pakistan has already downgraded diplomatic relations with India and has expelled Indian High Commissioner. Pakistan is trying to Internationalize the Kashmir issue to bring pressure on India.
India has maintained a clear stand that Kashmir is her internal matter and “PoK” is an illegal occupation of her territory by Pakistan.
