In a major setback for Mayawati led Bahujan Samaj Party, all six of its MLAs in Rajasthan joins Congress after writing to Assembly Speaker CP Joshi on Monday. With the shift, Congress now has power over 106 seats in the 200 seats Legislative Assembly. The MLAs cited the state’s development and welfare of the people as the reasons behind the switching.
