In a first of its kind event, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh took a sortie on the LCA Tejas. Doing so he became the 1st Defense Minister to board the indigenously built fighter aircraft. He flew on the aircraft from the HAL airport in the Bengaluru. The purpose of this move by the Defense Minister is to boost the morale of the officers who build the aircraft.
