Not just the city roads, but the department is seriously trying to make the city better. That’s why they have also started to plant trees in other open spaces that come under the PWD department. In total PWD manages 1,260 km roads in the city, planting seasonal flowering plants, creepers, shrubs and grass alongside roads to give them a fine look, not just this but it will also help to beat the city pollution.

This all comes under Delhi government’s Gree Budget initiative, that was announced last year in March by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia. Roads that are wider than 100 feet will get this new makeover. PWD is aiming to fill at least 500 km of the area with the clean and green trees.
