It’s been a year since PUBG (Players Unknown Battle Ground) Mobile has launched globally. The game was an instant hit everywhere in the world, but it got main attention in India.
The reason for that is the weird obsession that players and politicians of India are having towards the game. There are various news out in public, telling us about the harmful effect of these online multiplayer game.
For instance, a Jammu fitness trainer has lost his mental balance because of playing too much of PUBG. A Mumbai boy committed suicide, not just this but this game has even made people stab their family members.
This has made Rajkot police to take strict action against people who are playing PUBG and also they had put a temporary ban.
A ban on PUBG? Does it really important?
Yes, you have heard me right, on Wednesday, Rajkot police Commissioner Manoj Agrawal circulated a notice, informing the city about the PUBG ban. They are expecting this temporary ban will be able to put a stop to the increasing violence among children addicted to the game.

The main reason for the ban is that the game is affecting the academics record of school going, kids. Also knowing that class 10th board exams are soon going to start in the city, putting a temporary ban on PUBG seems to be the right option.
From March 9 to April 30, it might get hard to people in Rajkot to be able to play the game. As the police have stated that anyone who notices someone playing PUBG can file a complaint. And the police will make sure to take strict action against the accused under Section 188 of the Central Government Act.
Rajkot police department has come to the conclusion of banning PUBG in their city after hearing the statement of Jagruti Pandya who is the chairperson of the Gujarat child rights body. In his statement, he has announced the National Commission for Protection of Child Right has suggested a countrywide ban on PUBG. That’s what gave the police department of Rajkot authority to ban the game.

Is this really necessary?
Certainly, there are downfalls of online games, but the cases that prove online games are harmful are very less. It is a good thing that the ban is temporary otherwise I can imagine another 13 years-old boy going to the court to take on the system for banning PUBG (yes, the game is that popular).
