No Bombs Or Rockets, Only These Two Fire-Crackers Are Legal This Diwali

Like last year, the Supreme Court of India has barred the selling and purchasing of a majority of firecrackers in the capital in an attempt to curb noise and air pollution. However, as a relief to the ones fond of firework, the apex court has legalized two types of crackers namely “anar” and “phuljhari”.

Both these firecrackers lack sound-producing capabilities and only the green version of the same have been legalized.

The Delhi police have advised people to only buy crackers after checking the official stamp. The stamp includes a QR code that can be stamped and a government stamp.

The government claims green crackers emit 30% less air pollutants and thus could help to keep the pollution level in the capital under control.
