Elections have over, everyone is happy to this historic win of PM Modi (BJP). Where everyone supported the right, no matter if it’s a poor or rich, Hindu or Muslim, everyone decided to go with the good.
But still, why are people fighting over religion? A 25-year-old man was trashed for wearing his skullcap. Not just this but men also forced him to chat “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
What exactly happened?
The incident took place in Gurugram, the victim, Mohammad Barkat Alam was walking back home from a mosque on Saturday night. On his way back home he was allegedly assaulted by few men. Who forcefully take off his skullcap. Mohammad Barkat was coming back from Sadar Bazar, Gurugram after offering his prayer.

The incident took place around 10:15 when an unidentified group of men attacked Barkat. They not just trashed him but also forced him to chant the slogans “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.
Police have registered a case against an unidentified group, but there are still no arrests were made till now. Apart from the arrest, the FIR does not mention the incident where our victim was forced to chant names of other religion gods.
When asked the victim about the incident, he said, “Four men on a motorcycle and two pedestrians intercepted me. One of the pedestrians hit me with a stick and told me that I was not allowed to wear a skullcap in the area. He told me to take it off. I told him that I was returning from the mosque. When I refused, he hit me and forcibly took the cap off. He said that if I resisted too much, he would make me chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’.”
Two pedestrians, who seems to be drunk repeatedly abused him and hit him. Barkat even asked for help but no one intervened. They ran away only when Barkat started crying because of the beating that he has taken.
What did the police have to say?
“Police received information on Saturday night that a man had been beaten up in the area. According to the investigation, the victim was beaten up after an argument. The reason for the alleged altercation is not known. A case has been registered against an unidentified person. We are probing the incident,” said Rajeev Yadav, assistant commissioner of police (ACP).

“We have got the CCTV footage and As per the footage, the incident took place in over a minute. One suspect can be seen, but the footage is grainy. No one has been arrested,” Rajeev Yadav said.

Mutual trust is important to build peace in our country. The Muslim community is also part of our country since the start. Apart from that, they are also humans like us. Then why all this trashing of minorities?
