Mumbai Rain: Skyscraper Tuns Into A Waterfall, Make It A Tourist Destination Says Twitter

Six hours of heavy downpour in the financial capital of the country brought Mumbai on a standstill, deadening traffic besides leaving lack of people stranded on Wednesday. Although the downpour slowed down on Thursday, the metrological department has issued an orange alert, warning people of possible ‘heavy to very heavy rain’ in the Mumbai.

As of now, local train service, that hit road bumps earlier, has been resumed this morning. As per the BMC’s disaster management department, the situation worsened at 3:30 PM on Wednesday due to 4.13-m high tide which delayed the draining out of rainwater. Kurla West was again was once again the worst-affected area as the Mithi river reached the 3.92-m mark and overflowed around noon.

As rain gripped Mumbai, pictures of waterlogging, people being stranded begun surfacing the web. Among the same was a video clip that shows water sprouting from the terrace of a skyscraper, like an artificial waterfall.

The 40-second clip shared by a user on Twitter shows water hurling down the 40 story building. However, as per the user who posted the video, the incident took place after a water tank, that was recently installed, developed a crack.

The video quickly garnered a mixed response from the netizens that wanted the builders to charge money to see the waterfall and make it a tourist destination.

Reactions

As of now, rescue operations are being carried out across the city to help the stranded people. Mumbai Police have advised the people to stay behind lock doors and not get out unless absolutely necessary.
