In a saddening incident, a man hailing from the United States died while proposing marriage to his girlfriend underwater in Tanzania, East Africa. The couple Steven Weber and Kenesha Antoine was lodging in a submerged cabin at the Manta Resort on Pemba Island.
Antoine in her distraught state recalls the last moments in a post. “You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, ‘Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!,” she wrote.
As per the reports, the incident took place when Weber decided to get into the sea to propose Antoine from outside the submerged cabin. He then pulls out a handwritten note wrapped inside a ziplock bag.
“I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. But … everything I love about you, I love more every day!” the letter read.
Next, Weber flips the paper which read on the backside: “Will you marry me?” Weber then removes an engagement ring from his bathing-suit pocket before swimming away, without hearing his girlfriend’s response. The tragic accident was recorded by Antoine.
