What’s Happening In Kashmir? Leaders Under House Arrest And An Unofficial Curfew?

Cellular connection, mobile internet, landline all has been snapped from the state of Kashmir. It seems like a curfew has been started in the state as the senior leaders including Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah are also under house arrest.

Not just this but the government has asked tourists and pilgrims to leave the fidgety state. All this to limit the casualties in case of any mishappening.

As security forces in Kashmir recovered a large cache of ammunition including a Pakistan-made anti-personnel mine, and a US-made sniper rifle along the route of the Amarnath yatra.

What’s Exactly Happening In Kashmir?

Government authorities have stepped up their security forces in tensed Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Authorities had imposed restrictions under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPc), which prohibits the assembly of more than four people at a time.

One of the government statement reads, “As per the order, there shall be no movement of public and all educational institutions shall also remain closed. There will be a complete bar on holding any kind of public meetings or rallies during the period of operation of this order.”

It continued, “Identity cards of essential services officials will be treated as movement passes wherever required. However, there is no curfew in place as reported in a section of media.”

A few hours before the curfew was imposed, former CM of state of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah informed in his tweet, that he along with other senior leaders has been detained.

To be honest, it is a big mess in Kashmir, the influence of Pakistan along with the various terrorist groups had made the situation worse in the valley.

Mobile and internet services along with the schools and colleges have been shut down because of the security threat. There are long ques outside the shops and petrol pumps. As the anxious locals of the valley are stocking up the necessities to deal with this curfew.

In Conclusion:

The authorities imposed night curfew in Kishtwar, Rajouri districts and Banihal area of Ramban district. Most of this happening as the government is allegedly preparing to remove the Article 35A and 370.
