During the Leaders’ Summit of UK-India week, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, “Pakistan’s state-sponsored large-scale industry of terrorism prevents its government from acting like a normal neighbourhood country.”

The conference was held on Wednesday in Buckinghamshire near London. Jaishankar, former diplomat-turned-minister called out countries like Britain. Saying that these countries are proactive in preconizing nations that obstruct international rules.

He concluded it by saying, “A lot of what Pakistan is doing today, affects the rest of the world, including the UK.”

This is unacceptable to India, luckily many other nations are also understanding what Pakistan is doing, possessing the same view as India.

When asked about India and Pakistan trades, Jaishankar said, India has offered Pakistan the status of a Most Favoured Nation (MFN). There are much non-discriminatory trades took place as a favour. But Pakistan has always failed to reciprocate.

But the problem is we are not sure whether Pakistan is ready to behave as a normal country and as a normal neighbour. “As Pakistan is probably the only country who has an industry geared towards committing acts of terror,” Jaishankar said.

“It is not an easy challenge. We have struggled with it now for many, many years. It’s not a challenge we can address alone, but also I think it is not a challenge we should be addressing alone”.

Jaishankar said that the Indian government expects for a stronger global agreement over the issue so that Pakistan. So that the country can be pressurised to do the right thing.

In Conclusion:

Whenever a nation starts to ignore the good governance or common sense or rules of international relations, it becomes necessary for the international community not to look away and say it’s not a problem. The international community should not look for excuses, and should not play the balancing game for its political convenience.

It’s been many years, and it is enough, dealing with the ill blows of Pakistan has to stop. Building good relationships is important and in the case of Pakistan that can be done without eliminating terrorism from the country.
