Kohli Shares “Then And Now” Picture To Celebrate His 11-Year Journey In International Cricket

Virat Kohli on Sunday, 18 August, completed his 11 years in International cricket and shared a heartfelt post to embrace the journey it has been for him.  Kohli, who his currently touring West Indies, took on Twitter to thank God for showering his blessing on him through thick and thin.

“From starting as a teenager on the same day in 2008 to reflecting on the journey 11 years after, I couldn’t have dreamt of the blessings God has showered me with. May you all get the strength and power to follow your dreams and always follow the right path,” Virat wrote.

A Journey to Behold

Kohli who has 20,000+ (including test, ODI and T20s) runs to his name, made his international debut against Sri Lanka in Dambulla on August 18, 2008. Despite the ups and downs in the initial stages, it didn’t take Kohli long to rise to No.2 in ODI rankings back in 2011. Interestingly, 2011 was the same year when he was called in, to captain the Indian test side.

Virat Kohli, who has scooped India out of embracing situations often while finishing the game for the same; is one of the best batsmen and captain India has ever had. He enjoys a win percentage of 62.5 percent in test cricket and 78.57 percent in ODI cricket. In terms of fastest run-getters, Virat Kohli is the fastest to reach 9,000, 10,000 and freshly, 20,000 runs.

Keeping his good form intact, the 30-year-old is currently with the Indian cricket team in the Caribbean for a full series. Kohli will be more than satisfied at his 11th work anniversary as his team, and he personally, have been doing exceptionally well against the West Indies. For the inundated, India has won the One-Day International and Twenty20 International series and now the focus is on the two-match Test series beginning on August 22. The test series also marks the beginning of India’s World Test Championship Campaign.

In the T20I series, Virat Kohli was behind only Kieron Pollard in the top run-getters list, scoring 106 runs in three matches. However, in the ODI series, Kohli outshined others’ scoring two centuries in a row in 3 games. Virat Kohli ended up with 234 runs.
