Following the disturbances and cut down of communication channels post the removal of the special status of J&K the IT hub of the valley is hit hard. The IT setup in Budgam district on the outskirts of Srinagar employs around 1200 employees. This is the first time that the IT hub is facing the internet shutdown. Work is stranded and the firms are opting for cutting down on employee strength or is holding on the salaries. The Internet is not working ever since the night of August 4th.
