A year and some months after its official release back in March 2018, the Instagram Music feature has finally been rolled out for Instagram users in India. The functionality will let users tag songs to their stories. The feature presents three sections namely ‘Popular’, ‘Moods’ and ‘Genre’ which when accessed opens a list of moods and song suggestions. Instagram Music can be found in the app’s stickers drawer.
To try the new feature, update your Instagram app to the latest version (v110.0.0.16.119). Then, open the app and create a story. Once done, swipe up from the bottom. You will then find a new icon that reads ‘Music’. Click on the icon and search whatever song you would like to put on your story.
Interestingly, you can select the segment of the song that you want to put on your 15-second long story and its lyrics would play on the screen. The feature also lets you change the font style, size and colour of the lyrics.

The library divide into the aforementioned categories features a wide variety of Indian as well as international songs across various genres. The feature is only available for Instagram stories and not posts.
Instagram Music feature is also available across Latin America and includes features like music stickers, lip-sync live, and the ability to add songs to your Facebook Profile.
