Indian content is getting immense love and attention on these two humongous platforms. You should be proud that Indian actors and artists are getting worldwide recognition. Here are 15 new shows and movies on Netflix and Amazon prime that you should definitely watch-
1.Bard of Blood (New series)
This is a brand new Netflix series which is based on an Indian espionage novel by the name Bard of blood. The author- Bilal Siddiqui tells the tale of a former agent in an action-packed series. It’s a thriller which follows the agent’s life as he revisits a dangerous mission.
The release date hasn’t been disclosed yet. However, be rest assured that it is going to be a good one.
2. 15 August (Film)
The famous Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit is working behind the camera for the first time. The movie 15 August is about a mishappening that is set on the backdrop of a Mumbai chawl. On Independence Day, something unfortunate takes place and ends up causing chaos in a young love story.
The movie goes on to show how the entire chawl people unite together to help the boy. It will be released on 29th March on Netflix.
3. Delhi Crime (New series)
Looking at the popularity of crime based series, Netflix recently purchased the rights of a crime drama which is based on an Indian crime that created headlines in 2012. The series follows the investigation of a brutal gang rape of a young girl that shook India.
The first season is all set to be launched by Netflix on March 22nd.
4. Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians (New docuseries)
Made on a similar note of Inside edge ( Indian-American web television series based on a fictional T20 cricket team on Prime), Netflix is coming up with a sports docuseries. This show will ups and downs that took place in the last season IPL featuring the team Mumbai Indians.
It has already released on 1st March and is currently available on Netflix.
5. Selection day – Season 2
Netflix is also coming back with the second installment of Selection Day. If you haven’t watched the first season of this web series, you should. For those who don’t know the story, it is about the lives of two siblings who are constantly pushed by an over obsessive father, who wants them to become the two greatest batsmen.
This latest original series from India is a co-production of the Anil Kapoor Film Company (AKFC). It is based on It will be aired on April 22nd.

6. Sacred games 2
Unless you have been residing in another dimension, you must know about this epic series. Sacred games Season two hasn’t received a release date from Netflix. However, the filming is scheduled to be starting in autumn this year.
Most likely, the second season will be released in summer 2019.
7. Breathe season 2
This amazon prime thriller starring Madhavan is a telltale of the lives of ordinary men when they face extraordinary circumstances. The first season premiered on Amazon Video on 26 January 2018 and this year it’s all set for its second season.
It has been confirmed that Abhishek Bachchan will be joining the second season. The shooting is currently underway and there is no release date as of now.
8. Mirzapur season 2
The second season of Mirzapur is in the pipeline. Following the story of Guddu Bhaiya, Munna and Kaleen bhaiya- the king of Mirzapur, the first season ended as a cliffhanger. The season two of this series is currently under the executive producer Farhan Akhtar.
The release date hasn’t been confirmed yet but it will air in 2019.
9. Bandish Bandits
Unlike the title, the story is not about bandits or dacoits, it is actually a love story that revolves around the lives of two very different people. One is a talented Indian classical singer who is chained by traditions and values. While the other is a free bird, a pop star who is a performer.
The story beautifully captures the differences and how people work to get over those differences. It will release in 2019 on Prime Video.

10. The Last Hour
Though much details aren’t available about this, the producer Asif Kapadia, who is an Oscar winner shared what the storyline would be. The series is a crime thriller which also has supernatural twist set in the Himalayan region.
The Last Hour went into production in January 2019 and is soon to come up with a release date on Amazon prime.
11. Chopsticks
Along with Mithila Palkar who won hearts in Netflix series Little Things 02, the movie will also star Abhay Deol and Vijay Raaz. the movie is about an under-confident but talented girl who takes the help of a cop to get back her stolen car from a crazy Mumbai gangster who loves goats.
The movie also shows how the girl regains her confidence in the process to get back her car.
12. Bulbul
Produced by Anushka Sharma, Bulbul is going to be a Netflix movie that finds its roots deeply embedded in old beliefs and superstitions. The main characters of the movie are Satya and her child bride Bulbul. Satya is sent out to get a higher education while Bulbul stays back to live on her life.
When stays returns, he finds Bulbul living in a solitary existence while the village has rumours of mysterious deaths. The truth must be uncovered and that’s what the movie is about.
13. Upstarts
This movie is about the bromance about three college graduates from small-town India who are captivated by the startup mania. The plot will take you on a rollercoaster ride where naive minds deal with the ecosystem of big dreams, big money, and bigger sharks and politics.
This Netflix drama further goes on to show how they have to choose between – their dreams or their friendship.
14. Cobalt Blue
This one stands out of all the movies and series so far. The movie revolves around the story of a brother and sister who fall in love with the same man. Set on a traditional Marathi family background, it shows how the family gets shattered because of these events.
Written and directed by Sachin Kundalkar, this story brings out the pain and the beauty of forbidden desires.

15. Abbas Zafar’s political drama- untitled
Abbas Zafar is working on the script of an untitled political drama that will talk about the dark corners of Indian politics. The story is supposedly going to be about powerful politicians who create chaos and manipulate others to control the country.
The series will also justify the frustrations and aspirations of contemporary India and the ideals of the country’s youth.
