Indian Railways Would Not Charge ‘Cancellation Fee’ From Passengers

Taking the number of canceled trains up from 85 to 155 Indian Railways made another big announcement on Thursday. The railways announced that no ‘cancellation fee’ would be charged from the passengers.

Since over 60% of the tickets have been canceled the Indian railways has been canceling the trains due to low occupancy. The spread of COVID-19 has triggered the cancellation of tickets by the passengers. 100% refund for the canceled tickets would be given as per the railways.

A total of 155 trains would not operate between March 20 and March 31 due to the COVID-19 havoc. For the running trains, the railways are using ‘thermal tracking’ for temperature measurement of passengers.
