Indian Railway is always focused on how to make the online ticket booking system more convenient. Recently we have seen many updates in online ticket booking methods. Railway has started replacing the slow traditional ways to travel. Now IRCTC is starting one more payment facility to make the online ticket booking procedure more advanced.

News For Railway Passengers

Now the passengers can save more time while booking tickets online. Indian Railway has initialized a new facility for the convenience of its passengers which will comfort the payment system. Passengers can scan the QR codes and use UPI payments to buy train tickets easily. This facility is very efficient and effective in making easy ticket transactions. But the passengers can use this facility at a few stations where the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) is available. These ATVM machines function just like any other ATM. before this facility they are only used for generating local and platform tickets.

According to the reports available on IRCTC website, now the ATVMs will use to generate platform tickets, local tickets and tickets for long journeys. Passengers just have to scan the flashing QR code for ticket generation and UPI for payments. Passengers will get the URL containing the QR code for tickets through the messaging system on a registered mobile number.

Step by Step guide to book tickets by scanning QR code

  • First, open the link to download the official UTS App of Indian Railways.
  • In the menu, you will see the option of QR booking.
  • Then visit the station where you will see the QR code flashing on the Vending machine and scan it by using the UTS app.
  • Then fill in the formal questions and destination.
  • Complete the payment and then receive your ticket.
