IIFA Awards 2019: And The Award Goes To……..

It’s that time of the year when all the stars from the B-Town gather under one roof to set the night on fire. This year, since it was the first time (since the inception of the awards in 2000) that the awards where being held in India, #iifahomecoming was the buzz on Twitter.

The 20th edition of the star-studded event saw all the who’s who of Bollywood. Breathtaking performances,  big-ticket nominations and glamours shimmer were the highlights of the IIFA event. The recipe has always been the same; it’s the excitement of homecoming that made it louder.

So, the ultimate question is who won the best actor/actress award? The award for the best movie went to? We understand your curiosity to know that all and here we bring to you all that you wanted to know.

Best Actor Male

Just like there is no match for his energy in the Bollywood, there was no match for his performance among the nominees. Yes, it’s the mad and barbarian”Khilji” from Padmavat, Ranveer Singh.

Ranveer also set the stage on fire with his performance before bagging the honor.

Best Actor Female

You might taunt her for her low IQ or make memes about her General Knowledge but her acting skills are something that are enough to blow you out. It’s our bubbly and cheerful “Alia Bhatt” who bagged the award on the starry night yesterday.

Alia, won the award for her performance in the movie Raazi.

Best Movie

If you thought it was Padmaavat or Stree or Padman then you are absolutely wrong. It’s Alia (not literally but the entire team) again who takes the honor. Raazi was adjudged the best movie.

Best Debut

No brainer this time it was Sara Ali Khan in the female category for her movie Kedarnath. And in the best debut for male category it was Ishan Khatter for Dhadak.

After bagging the highest nominations at this year’s IIFA (14) and the movie winning National award Sriram Raghavan won the best director award for AndhaDhun
