So the much-awaited Akshay Kumar starrer, Laxmii, after cruising through its own share of controversies was finally released on Disney+ Hotstar on Monday. Directed by Raghava Lawrence and starring the likes of Kiara Advani besides Kumar, the horror-comedy is a remake of the south Indian movie that goes by the name Kanchana.
Over the weeks, the movie had created quite a buzz mostly around Kumar’s transgender character, Laxmii. And just in case you need anyone else to tell you if should watch the film or not, then here are some tweets that would help you make a decision.
I apologise for being blunt and to the point.

The movie is a BIG disappointment.
Forced comedy, weak script flow, poor direction @offl_Lawrence and above all @akshaykumar 's inability to act has only made matters worse.
I don't recommend you watch it.#LaxmiiReview https://t.co/4wxUrZm8yn
Done with Laxmii… My God I need a pain killer.. #Laxmii

REVIEW: #Laxmii | The film's shrillness drowns out its purported goal of representing the trans community on screen and every molecule of good intentions in the script. @annavetticad | Rating: 1.5https://t.co/JQNX5YyI7i

It takes a special kind of stupidity to try to sell a bigot as funny while he's being a jerk to his Muslim son-in-law. I can see diarrhea & chubti jalti ghamorian queuing up in front of Akshay Kumar’s door for a makeover to look cute too. #LaxmiiReview https://t.co/aBY3m7RzuI

Lacks the impact of the original [#Kanchana]… #AkshayKumar in terrific form, but weak screenwriting + forced comedy are downers… Gathers momentum in concluding portions… Expected so much more! #LaxmiiReview pic.twitter.com/nLv0NJ1Sxp

#TutejaTalks #Exclusive #LaxmiiReview – Superb entertainer with truly cinematic experience. @akshaykumar nails it BIG, especially in the 2nd half, when he turns into #Laxmii. Last 40 mins are truly superb as horror and drama come together. The climax brings on goosebumps ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ pic.twitter.com/aAa51d6QhS

An official remake goes HORRIBLY wrong, film fails to scare, lacks comedy,Extreme Overacting, low class making, Honestly #AkshayKumar weakest solo film after Singh is Bling. Overall will turn out to be a FAILURE in Digital world #LaxmiiReview pic.twitter.com/WqXR5XyBl3

Just finished watching #Laxmii, and damn, @akshaykumar was flawless in the film. What an incredible performance!! His expressions, that signature walk and the ease with which he switches between Laxmi & Asif – simply outstanding 👏🏼 The climax was spine chilling! #LaxmiiReview pic.twitter.com/RkU3FKUWpC

#LaxmiiReview #Laxmii #LaxmiiBomb what a waste of talent, money, aura, and beauty! Good that it got thr ott release. Will be watched more than it would have been if it were going to release in theatres! Except some scenes, most of the movie is a circus with no script! Skip it!
