It is rightly said that there’s always some inspiration to find in everything that happens (honestly, I have never heard anyone say that. I just made that up).
But still, I believe that there is some inspiration to scoop out from everything we go through be it good or bad. And thankfully, we got examples to prove that to you.
2020 may have been a tough year but it has surely inspired many to see things differently And among those inspired to see things differently are these artists who have summarised the whole pandemic in their Navratri art. Have a gaze:
1. A pandal in Kolkata had Maa Durga reimagined as a doctor slaying coronavirus with a vaccine-filled syringe.
2. Doctors and policemen, throughout the pandemic, were lifesavers. And that has obviously inspired artists to thank them by portraying them as life-givers.
3. Thanking cleaning stuff across hospitals and the country is this pandal set up somewhere in West Bengal
4. Here is our favorite wherein the traditional image of the goddess has been swapped with a migrant mother and her four children for had been as brave as Maa Durga during the lockdown.
5. Another beautiful picturization of goddess Durga destroying Mahisasura, the demon, looking like the coronavirus.
6. Artist Rintu Das has dedicated this pandal to all the migrant workers who had to face hardship during the lockdown.
7. An artist dedicated his Navratri art to Sonu Sood who had helped 1000s of Migrant workers reach their home safely during the lockdown.
8. On in tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput.
9. The weapons in this depiction of Maa Durga are doctors, sweepers, nurses, etc. with the aasur being the coronavirus.
10. Another beautiful presentation of Maa Durga and coronavirus going against each other.
11. The plight of migrant workers who travelled on foot to reach their home has been beautifully presented in this artwork
12. Here is an attempt to picture the tragic accident where 16 migrant labourers, who were trying to return to their home State Madhya Pradesh on foot, were killed after being mobbed down by a train.
13. The one is Kolkata’s Beleghata Sandhani Club shows numerous faces putting on face masks, a scenario which is very common in 2020.
