With the ongoing #MeToo movement, women are coming out with shocking revelations of sexual abuse that they suffered several years ago.
Amidst all this chaos of allegations, this woman from Karnataka’s Davanagere city came out strong with raising not only her voice but her chappal against sexual favors. Instead of doing nothing about it, or posting it on the social media, she took to herself and punished the person for his perverted thinking.
What exactly happened?
So, the whole incident turns out to be loan related. The woman in the picture needed a loan for which she approached Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DFHL) bank. When she met the manager, Devaiah, he asked her for sexual favors, only after which he would pass the loan.

What did the woman do?
Obviously, the woman became furious with his outrageous demand and lost her temper. She dragged him outside, holding his collar and demanded him to come to the police station.
She even hit him with a stick, which I guess he deserved.
The whole ordeal was recorded and the 50-sec long clip is doing rounds on social media platforms.
People are even linking it with #MeToo movement, but I guess this incident is much more powerful than that.
The lady, took a stand right there to expose what kind of a person the manager was. She even shamed him and publicly embarrassed him, making sure that he doesn’t repeat it again. And if you ask me, that is what is required in today’s time.
What actions did the authority take?
Meanwhile, DHFL has terminated the service of the manager. They are deeply regretting the incident, that the lady had to face. Side by side, Devaiah has been booked under sections 354 and 354 A of sexual harassment and, is under police custody.

Ever since the video was uploaded on social media platforms, it has received over 2,300 retweets. And more than 5,300 likes. The need of the hour is to come out strong just like this woman did. And fight the evil right away. I am sure, if such things start getting exposed and dealt with at this speed, there won’t be any sexual abuse which women would suffer.
I hope soon the movement #Metoo is replaced with people being shamed down for what they have done, instantly, without waiting. It would remove the overall concept of,’Why didn’t she stop me at that time, why is she telling after 10 years?’ or any other question for that matter.
