Take A Chill Pill, Anger Badly Affects Brain And Body, Here’s Why

Hey, are you finding it hard to remember where you placed your wallet last night? And you are losing your shit over it?

My suggestion for you is to take a chill pill because anger affects brain and body. Every time you get angry, chances are that you might end up making some wrong decisions or hurting yourself or someone else.

No matter what you do, your anger will definitely hurt you in one way or another. And before affecting your body, anger affects brain. (That’s why I always tell my girlfriend to get less angry, but she never listens to me.)

I hope you all won’t ignore this.

What are the reasons for your anger?

  1. Disappointment
  2. Frustration
  3. Judgment
  4. Rejection
  5. Fear

Your brain can sense fear way before you realize it, and even the slightest spark of anger activates the amygdala (part of your brain which associated with your emotions.)

Soon, it starts a chain reaction inside your brain that leads to the activation of the adrenal gland. It starts releasing stress hormones like cortisol, adrenaline, and noradrenaline.

Ideally, your body should release these hormones in the situations of real danger, like when you are at the gunpoint, inside in a dark alley. And not when your boyfriend accidentally lied to you about how you are looking.

Understand this- a guy with a gun is a real danger, your boyfriend is not. lol.

In case of real danger, secretion of these hormones helps you react quickly, so that you can deal with the situation in a better way.

But, when your body keeps releasing these hormones when there is no real danger, it starts affecting your brain and body negatively.

In your brain

Increased secretion of cortisol disrupts (and sometimes kill) neurons in your prefrontal cortex that holds you from making good decisions in future. It also affects your short-term memory. Now I totally understand, why she keeps forgetting about my good deeds and never forgets the stupid talk that we had last year.

In your body

  • Increased heart rate
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Chronic case can result in clogged or damaged blood vessels.
  • Decreased Metabolism
  • Weaken eyesight
  • Migraine
  • Increased headache
  • Lower bone density

How you should react when you feel angry?

1. Talk calmly:

Getting angry at someone is not going to resolve your problem, especially when someone from your family is behind it. It isn’t worth getting angry because sometimes you too say things that you can’t take back. So, stay calm and take deep breaths.

2. Find the source that is bothering you:

No one wants to get angry, these are only the situations that makes you bitter. Simply try to find the thing that is bothering you, the key is not to lose your temper and solve the issue without getting angry at anything or anyone.

3. Be the bigger person:

If you love them and they made a silly mistake that is bothering you, just forget it and be the sensible person. After all, anger affects brain, and that too yours, not theirs.

4. Find people who make you happy not angry:

Usually, the reason you get angry is the people you are surrounded with. If your friends are rude and they get angry all the time, the same will portray in your nature as well. Just leave them, you don’t need people who are trying to hurt you intentionally or unintentionally.

In Conclusion:

Getting angry isn’t worth anything. Then why are you wasting your time by staying angry all the time? Learn to let go of things and try not to be rude to anyone.

Don’t be like my girlfriend and fight with everyone OK, be a good person, be like me!
(Pssst…I hope my GF doesn’t read this article or I am screwed!)
