Amul Thanks PM Modi For Rejecting China-Led RCEP Free Trade Deal

The country’s leading milk supplier, Amul, on Monday took on Twitter to thank the Prime minster of India for rejecting China-backed Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Had India nodded positively to RCEP, it would have given tax-free access to foreign dairy suppliers into the Indian markets. This would have undoubtedly, affected indigenous milk producers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bangkok said India will not join China-backed RCEP deal as negotiations failed to satisfactorily address New Delhi’s “outstanding issues and concerns”.
