A day after the announcement of Indian’s world cup squad, Ambati Rayudu posted a tweet that reads, “Just ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup.” What many people are calling batsman game spirit might be a sarcastic comment that actually showed how he is feeling now.
Vijaya Shankar replaced Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu, 33-year-old Indian cricketer has been replaced by Vijaya Shankar, due to his bad performance in Australian series. Fan’s are not happy to see him chucked out of the world cup squad. Even the former cricketer Gautam Gambhir is not happy about it.
Rayudu’s elimination from the World Cup squad is a very unfortunate thing. “It is very, very unfortunate that someone averaging 48 in white-ball cricket and is only 33 has been left out. That for me is more heartbreaking than any other selection decision,” said Gambhir.
To justify their selection, chief selector MSK Prasad said, “We did give a few more chances to Rayudu but Vijay Shankar gives three dimensions. He can bat if the conditions are overcast, he can bowl, plus he is a fielder. We are looking at Vijay Shankar as a No. 4.”
So in his tweet from 3d glasses, Rayudu might be referring to the 3-dimensional cricketer, Vijaya Shankar.

Why is everyone is talking about it?
Rayudu might have not shown how he is feeling openly, but fans are quite upset. Before the Australian series, Rayudu was India’s permanent number 4 player. He has an average of 47.05 in 55 ODIs. But the three poor games against Australia in the five-match ODI home series has made him lose his charm in front of the selectors.
Everyone thinks this is unfair, they can’t replace him because of his poor performance in the last three matches against Australia.
