Just as we see a flee of engineers in the entertainment world these days, Varun is a part of that clan. Varun is a Civil Engineering graduate from IIT, Varanasi. He graduated from IIT in the year 2003. Since his college days, he had an interest in writing and performing. After graduation, he didn’t pay much attention to getting a job and rather focussed on listening to his heart’s call.

A National Award-Winning Lyricist
Varun started his career as a lyricist with the popular movie series Gangs of Wasseypur. He collaborated with Piyush Mishra for the project. The first taste of limelight came to his career as a lyricist when he won the National Award for best lyricists in 2015 for his song “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage” from the movie “Dum Laga Ke Haisha”. The movie starred Ayushman Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. In 2015 he delivered yet another critically acclaimed work in face of the movie Massan. Massan got wide appreciation from the audience at the Cannes Film Festival.
His work as a lyricist is not restricted to his award-winning work. In 2016 he wrote the lyrics for the movie Udta Punjab. In the following year, he collaborated with popular lyricist Shelle for the movie Newton which eventually become the official entry of India to the OSCAR.

If you thought that was all about the man then you are wrong. There is another addition to the description of this multi-talented man. Varun is a comedian and comic writer as well. His comic videos are popular on YouTube with millions of hits on them. The art of touching serious topics without sounding monotonous and boring is what that makes Varun’s comic skills a hit.
