Akshay Kumar, who turns 52 today, is basking under the success of his last release Mission Mangal which has been doing phenomenal on the big screen. And on his D-day, ensuring that his fans have yet another reason to feel happy about, he surprised them by announcing his involvement with a new project, Prithiviraj. The Khiladi actor took on social media to announce the film, which will be produced under Yash Raj Banner.

The film has been slated to release on Diwali 2020.

The teaser starts with an opening scene of a flaming sword that hints at a war announcement. The sword blazing in flames soon turns into a flag as war scenes come into play. The view of soldiers mounted over horses is then eclipsed by Prithviraj who reins his horse as he stands tall on his rear legs. The teaser gives us a glimpse of the war drama that Prithiviraj will come intact with.
The movie will be directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi who is well known for directing television epic Chanakya and a love story, Pinjara, weaved during the partition of India and Pakistan. Any further information about the film has not been disclosed yet.
For the inundated, Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan was a Rajput King who fought several battles, including facing oppositions from his family members. During his glorious rule, he had control over much of present-day Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan.
On the work front, Akshaya Kumar will next be seen Housefull 4 and Good News later this year. He has also signed up for Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Sooryavanshi and Raghava Lawrence’s horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb scheduled to release next year.
