In a unique approach towards fighting climate change, Japan’s Environment Minister Shinjiro Koizumi said to make it “sexy”. The minister pledged to mobilize youths to take the economy to a low carbon path by making climate change “sexy” and “fun”. Attending a press conference on the eve of the United Nations Climate Summit in New York the minister said, “In politics, there are so many issues, sometimes boring. On tackling such a big-scale issue like climate change, it’s got to be fun, it’s got to be cool. It’s got to be sexy too,”.
